Matt C
I am in recovery from alcoholism and childhood dysfunction.
When I first entered recovery I had no idea where the true me started and my alcoholism ended until I got to the underlying cause and conditions.
My addiction and my coping mechanisms were a symptom of an underlying dysfunction. All of this led to a man in active addiction with deep rooted trauma and an inability to function in personal relationships. Until, firstly, I stopped drinking and secondly immersed myself in the Adult Child work.
The work I have done and the work that we do with others is based in the Adult Child, we look at all areas of your life from the obvious addiction, through to personal relationships, financial security, relationships in the workplace. The list is long as we see dysfunction having an impact on all areas of your life as it did mine.
My life now is peaceful and I understand what is important to me. I am in a loving relationship where we have open and honest communication, I am the father I want to be but most importantly I have choices that are not driven by my past. I live in the now and make the most of it, and I want to share with you the methods for achieving this.
